Murchison Shire might be small in population, but we are big in size and heart.
Located 300km from Geraldton and 650km from Perth, the Murchison Settlement is entirely Council managed. Council office, depot, housing, power and water supply, community and recreation facilities, Roadhouse and Caravan Park are now all under our umbrella.
Murchison Shire operates the Murchison Oasis Roadhouse and Caravan Park as a local community focused operation to assist in the development of tourism in the region and to provide services to the Murchison community and Settlement.
The Roadhouse provides freshly made meals, cold drinks, coffee, a basic range of groceries and stellar customer service to Shire residents and travelers passing through. The Caravan Park consists of 6 motel rooms, 12 powered sites, numerous unpowered sites and ablution and laundry facilities, providing guests with a peaceful, clean, comfortable and enjoyable overnight experience under our amazing dark skies.
With exciting developments either already underway or due to commence next year, including the construction of a pool and splashpad, redevelopment of the roadhouse and new staff and workers accommodation, we are looking for a dynamic individual to take over the management of the Roadhouse and Caravan Park.
The key position of Roadhouse Manager will require a strong hospitality background and proven management of similar operations. You will be responsible for ordering, rostering and overall management along with usual day to day duties.
A second position is also available to assist the Manager and our existing team of casual staff with food preparation and cooking, cleaning, servicing accommodation and most importantly, delivering excellent customer service, making this opportunity perfect for a couple or family.
A furnished, air-conditioned residence within the Murchison Settlement, with the Shire meeting all costs associated with power, water and gas utilities is supplied for the successful applicant. Home internet services with an allocation of data and Foxtel services at a reduced cost also form part of the package. A free freight service from Geraldton to the Settlement operates weekly.
Whilst it is desirable, as per the current situation, that both positions are filled from the same family unit, this should not discourage individual applications for either position.
